AUTUMN 2024 WARCRY TIER LIST! ft. Wargames on Toast

The new WarCry errata is upon us so Wargames on Toast and I decided to take a look at all the factions in the game and try to figure out where they are likely to place in the upcoming competitive meta. We both feel like WarCry as a game doesn't suit tierlists all that well but as a bit of fun we put our heads together to put something together. For a full explanation of each of the factions and why they went where they are (and I really urge you to do that... there are some interesting Hot Takes in there) you can check out the full video here:

If you are just here for a list of faction names though then you are in the right place! A word of warning about taking pretty much anything here as gospel; This is largely based on the kinds of lists that we think will do well in the upcoming competitive meta based on where the Autumn 2024 update is pushing us but of course we love to be surprised!

The Big Winners

Wildercorps Hunters ↑

Cities of Sigmar: Dispossed

Ogor Mawtribes

Corvus Cabal

Nighthaunt

Tarantulos Brood

With the exception of Wildercorps Hunters (who are in S tier purely by virtue of their best list being crazy, despite how impractical it is to actually build), all of these warbands have really benefited from the trend towards smaller warbands that has come out of the Summer update, with either their innate stats or abilities giving them the edge against more traditional matchups.

Nighthaunt and Corvus Cabal have seen real pluses thanks to both their points decreases in Summer and their very similar battle traits; Both being bonus strength on the move, and both being very mobile warbands whose main drawback was the lack of strength.

Tarantulos Brood get into the top tiers simply by being one of the last warbands that can put 15 fighters on the table along with the classically strong mechanics of resurrect and nets, this time with M6 instead of the classic M3 that we generally see out of similar Death warbands. However they are hard countered by several of the S-Tier warbands which can kill multiple spiders a turn, aswell as strong shooting.
